The meeting will take place in two locations:

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (16,17,18 & 20 October 2023), the meeting will take place at MEGWARE. On Thursday (19 October 2023), the meeting will take place at OBERDECK.

Parking at MEGWARE is possible anywhere on our premises, except for immediate loading zones. Our colleagues will be happy to help you find a suitable spot for your car.

Parking at Oberdeck should be possible without problems with parking available on-site as well as in the nearby streets.
 

Travel

TRAVELLING TO CHEMNITZ BY PLANE

If you would like to travel by plane, you can consider multiple commercial airports around Chemnitz as your destination:

• Dresden International (DRS): Approx. 80 km from Chemnitz Most commercial trip options to Dresden will have you travel via Frankfurt, Munich or Zurich.
• Leipzig-Halle Airport (LEJ): Approx. 110 km from Chemnitz Most commercial trip options to Leipzig will have you travel via Frankfurt, Munich or Vienna
• Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER): Approx. 240 km from Chemnitz Direct connections to many European cities with both regular and low-cost carriers.
• Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG): Closer than Berlin (approx.
  150 km from Chemnitz), and well connected to many European cities. However, as there is no train station at Prague Airport, getting a rental car for your onward journey is highly recommended!

For the final leg between the airport of your choice and Chemnitz, you can either use a rental car or go by train.

TRAVELLING TO CHEMNITZ BY TRAIN

Unfortunately, Chemnitz is not located on one of Germany’s high-speed railway lines. On the positive side, the reliability and service level of local trains in Germany outperforms the high-speed network significantly. In most cases, your best option for travelling to Chemnitz by train will be via Leipzig. Travel information, schedules and online tickets for trips originating from most places around Europe can be obtained via the website of Deutsche Bahn at: https://www.bahn.com/en

Please use “Chemnitz Hbf” (“Hbf” is the German abbreviation for ‘main station’) as your destination
station.

In addition to Deutsche Bahn, Flixtrain has a budget offering on some routes within Germany, including for example a link Berlin-Leipzig. However, connections are limited and need online pre-booking. More info at: https://www.flixtrain.com.

TRAVELLING TO CHEMNITZ BY CAR

Chemnitz is served by German Highways A4 and A72, so getting in and out is fairly easy. In some areas in the city, finding a parking spot can be a challenge, especially for overnight parking. Most of the central district has metered parking zones. Some hotels have limited parking spaces, so they prefer if you let them know your need for a parking space in advance.

GETTING AROUND TOWN

Chemnitz features a local bus and light-rail network for public transit.

To reach MEGWARE, you will need to take bus 21 to “Chemnitz-Center”. From there, you will need to walk another 10 minutes on foot. Once per hour, you can take bus 96 from “Chemnitz-Center” and get off at “Röhrsdorf Gewerbegebiet Chemnitz-Park”.
