TREX High Performance Software Solutions for Quantum Mechanical Simulations at the Exascale
Between 2020 and 2023 the TREX Center of Excellence gathered European scientists, HPC stakeholders, and companies working on quantum chemistry and condensed matter simulations in the framework of stochastic QMC methods to develop and disseminate innovative computational tools for new materials design and the understanding of the fundamental properties of matter.
Quantum Monte Carlo HPC Applications in Condensed Matter, Quantum Chemistry and Materials Science
The webinar explored the frontiers of quantum materials research and quantum chemistry, by means of Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) calculations, owing to their unique suitability in solving complex many-body problems as well as in harnessing the parallelism offered by upcoming exascale supercomputer architectures.
The webinar is a collaborative effort between the Targeting Real Chemical Accuracy at the EXascale (TREX) project and CECAM (Centre Européen de Calcul Atomique et Moléculaire).
TREX High Performance Software Solutions for Quantum Mechanical Simulations at the Exascale
TREX organized its first webinar on "High Performance Software Solutions for Quantum Mechanical Simulations at the Exascale" on February 8, 2023.
This webinar walked participants through TREX's six different quantum chemistry codes and the open-source libraries optimized for upcoming Exascale systems, which are ready to be integrated into quantum chemical codes that will benefit from the Exascale transition.
QMC Hands-on Summer Workshop - Day 3
From 20 to 23 June, the TREX QMC Hands-on Summer Workshop took place in Slovakia, providing a complete overview of and hands-on experience with the QMC methods and their application to both molecular (Quantum Package and CHAMP codes) and extended systems (TurboRVB).
The workshop was organised by the TREX project, which managed the tutorials and training activities, together with the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) of Physics SAS (IPSAS), and the National Competence Centre for High Computing (NCC for HPC).
QMC Hands-on Summer Workshop - Day 2
