About Paul Kent
Paul Kent is a Distinguished R&D staff member of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in 1999 for a dissertation on techniques and applications of Quantum Monte Carlo. Currently, he (1) leads the Center for Predictive Simulation of Functional Materials, which is focused on advancing and applying Quantum Monte Carlo to quantum materials, and (2) leads part of the Exascale Computing Project that is developing the open-source QMCPACK code for Exascale and advancing the necessary software technologies to facilitate performance portability. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
