Fyzikalny Ustav Slovenskej Akademie vied - Institute of Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (IPSAS, https://www.fu.sav.sk/), founded in 1956, is one of 45 institutes of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS). With staff about 3.000, SAS is the largest research institution in Slovakia responsible for one half of Slovakia’s research in all sections of research, from humanities, social sciences, technical disciplines to natural sciences. SAS hosts the only supercomputer in Slovakia, the Aurel (https://www.sivvp.sk/en/ ), to be replaced in 2022, part of the Slovak Infrastructure for High Performance Computing.
